- Tinubu made worthy choice of Shettima as running mate – Tunji Abayomi
Human Rights Activist and Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council for Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Dr. Tunji Abayomi has described the running mate decision of Kashim Ibrahim Shettima made by the Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu as worthy choice
In a statement signed by him, Abayomi said Senator Kashim Shettima is a very diligent, committed, trusting and trustworthy Nigerian describing him (Shettima) as a patriotic individual with a deep sense of the country’s economy.
The Constitutional lawyer and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress while commending the leadership of the party and Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for picking Kashim Shettima as his running mate said “together you can be assured that they will transport Nigeria to a Nation that gains advantages for her citizens.”
According to him, Senator Kashim Shettima is moderate in everything he does, with professional and profundity of vision for a united and greatly respectable Nigeria Nation saying that he (Shettima) always works hard to solve difficult problems as demonstrated when he was Governor in Borno State.
His words: “Senator Kashim Shettima is a very diligent, committed , trusting and trustworthy Nigerian. He has interacted very intensely and likably both in Southern and Northern Nigeria. He is of deep and sound mind with fecundity of intellect. You have to interact with him to appreciate how extremely sensisble his choice as Vice-Presidential Candidate is. One aspect of note is the shared appreciation and understanding he enjoys with Asiwaju Tinubu. The other is his highly warm relationship benefits with people he comes across.
“Those who are offended by the choice of Kashim Ibrahim Shettima should take heart. Tinubu chose an outstanding citizen who can be trusted and relied upon for the great job ahead.
“Tinubu did not choose a religion or by religion. He chose for the people from the people and by the people considering that Nigeria in reality and by law is a multi-religious nation. Often we speak only of rival religions of Christianity and Islam forgetting that millions of our citizens follow the gods of their ancestors through traditional religions. Should the traditional worshippers also be fighting that they were not favoured?
“We don’t only congratulate Senator Kashim Shettima, we also commend Asiwaju Tinubu for the worthy choice”, Abayomi added.
