THE President and Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Management, (NIM) Chartered. Major General Abdullahi Muraina, (rtd) has urged members to serve Nigeria in their service to the institute.

He made this known on Thursday while inducting upgraded members to the Fellowship of the institute at an event which took place at the Muson Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In a speech read on his behalf by the Deputy President of the institute, Dr. (Mrs) Christiana Atako, while urging the upgraded Fellows not to see it as a destination, he urged them not to rest on their oars, especially in reaching for the heights of their contribution to society.

“Since Fellowship upgrade is not a destination or an end in itself, I implore you, the recipients, not to be contented with adding the appellation ‘FNIM’ to your names but to see it as a call to higher responsibility and service to the institute, to the management profession and the nation,” he said.
He urged them to also devote more of their talents, time and thinking to the service of the institute and Nigeria as a whole by placing their competences and specializations at the disposal of the institute.

One of the upgraded fellows, the Deputy Executive Secretary (Services) of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Dr. Isiaka Olayinka Kolawole, thanked the institute for the award while stating that he would deploy his knowledge and professional qualifications in benefitting the institute and Nigeria as a whole.
The event was attended by over a hundred guests and awardees which included Senator Olugbenga Ashafa, Prince Clem Ikanade, Hon David Olofu, Alhaji Wahab Alawiye, Hon Victor Okubonanabo, Engr Tasiu Sa’ad Gidadi-Wudil, Major General Adekunle Adigun Adesope, His Imperial Majesty Eze Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, Dr. Theresa Obumneme Okoli, Prof Samaila Mande and Mr. Jude Iheanachor, among others.
