Former President, Goodluck Jonathan, has backed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar as the next president.
In a viral video seen by Newsflash Nigeria on social media, Jonathan described Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Vice Presidential candidate of PDP as Nigeria’s incoming Vice President.
In the video, Okowa and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State led the PDP delegation to visit Jonathan in Abuja, Wednesday evening.
Jonathan stated that he was willing and ready to support and work for the success of the PDP in the 2023 elections, as he wished the party members success in all their endeavours “especially those who want to represent us from next year (2023).”
Raising Okowa’s hand, Jonathan called him “our incoming Vice President.”
On his part, Governor Okowa said it was important to seek the support of President Jonathan and with his blessing, the party was poised for victory in February.
