The Federal lawmaker representing Owo/Ose federal constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe has won the award of merit as the Pillar of Politics and community development in Ondo state. The award was organized by the Ebira Community Development Legacy, EBICODEL, Owo, Ondo state.The state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, his Chief of Staff, Chief Olugbenga Ale, APC Chairman in Owo LG, Chief Samuel Balogun were also awarded alongside with Adelegbe at the event held at the Mapo Hall, Owo in Ondo state.
Speaking at the event, the President of the EBICODEL, Mr. Alam, said there are some notable politicians in the state who have distinguished themselves and played major roles in the development of Ebira Community in the state. He added that such leadership responsibilities have qualified them for the award.
“Our amiable Governor, Chief Of Staff, our rep member, Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe, and other notable leaders have not let us down. They have been representing us well in their capacities.
“That is why these awards should be given to them as a way of honouring them for their good leadership style”
Appreciating the organisers of the event for the honour bestowed on him. Hon. (Dr.) Timehin Adelegbe also pointed out that he had successfully facilitated over 50 projects (both completed and ongoing) in the areas of human and infrastructural development as a federal lawmaker.
Adelegbe also thank the Governor of the state for being an accommodating leader in the state.
“Let me appreciate those who have taken time to look into the wonderful things I doing for my people in Owo/Ose.
“There is no community in Owo and Ose that you will not find my project. I have touched all various communities in our Federal Constituency and I’m still going to do more by God grace when I returned second term.
“You are my people, I remember when my brother was the Council Chairman, Ebira person was made a councilor, and many others who gotten that privilege through our effort.
“Even the Governor has been so accommodating enough for appointing some non indigenes to be part of his cabinet. It matters alot.
As a way of contributing towards the progress of the Ebira Community Development Legacy, the legislator donated a sum of N500,000 to the group.
“I’m feel so honoured to be here. I have recieved no fewer than 15 awards since I became House of Reps member. I didn’t have time to attend due to busy engagement.
“But I thank God, I’m here in person. For the progress of the group, I will give you a sum of N500,000”.
Very important person in the society, APC leaders, Ward Chairmen in Owo and Ose Local government areas, APC members and Adelegbe support groups were all at the award ceremony.
