Flying Eagles Head coach Ladan Bosso has revealed the main reason why some of the foreign-born and based players were not included in his squad list for the AFCON Tournament.According to the tactician, the players were good professionally, but lacked African mentality and doggedness needed in African football and tournaments, hence his decision to drop them.
“Some of these Foreign-Based players that came, of course none of them is bad, all.ofbthem are good players; but lack of African mentality and that’s why my former boys have an edge over them in terms of doggedness and African mentality,” Bosso told the media Friday afternoon after thrashing Deluxe FC 6:0.
“And most of the Foreign-Based players that came, still have that foreign mentality and we’re preparing for an African tournament,” he continued.
“So for now, we have to stick with the majority of home-based with African mentality; of course can give us what we’re seeing for,” he added.
