Lions Leaders and corporate partners have lauded the Pioneer District Governor of District 404A-4, Nigeria Lion Dr Kofoworola Jegede, PMJF, NLCF, LCIP on bringing to bear her initiative on hosting the maiden edition of Lions Charity, Funfare and Sales Jamboree.
The leaders which include PCC Lami Ahmed; PCC Olumuyiwa Jegede; PDG Adekunle Adedipe; 1st Vice District Governor, District 404A-3, Lion Sade Shotomide; District GLT Coordinator, Lion Queensly Adedipe,Regions and Zone Chairpersons with Club Presidents ( serving and past ) and members across the District with Leos led by the District Leo President, Rofiyat Kazeem thronged the International, Cultural and Events Centre, The Dome, Akure; venue of the event to savour the funs that characterized the programme.
The programme which had as its theme: Strength of my Service, provided a market arena for local entrepreneurs to showcase their locally produced goods and wares with lots of dancing for children on a Bouncing Castle and a Medical outreach for hundreds of people who had sight challenges during which they were tested and provided with Free Eye Glasses.
Addressing participants at the event,the District Governor, Lion Dr Kofoworola Jegede said District 404A-4, under her leadership, will continue to use every means to ensure that residents of Ondo, Edo and Delta States get acquainted with the vision and mission of the Lions Club.
The DG who took turn to visit the stands of the entrepreneurs at the programme assured them that their collaborations with the Lions Club will never be in vain.
The lead partner of the Programme, Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, ODIRS, said its will continue to collaborate with organisations which prioritise civic consciousness and societal development at making the life worth living for all.
The Revenue Collecting Agency which spoke through its Head of Unit on Tax Identification Number, TIN, Mrs Busayo Akinyosoye said the management of ODIRS under its Executive Chairman, Mr Tolu Adegbie has redefined tax enlightenment in Ondo State through persuasions and strategic communications at bringing new entrants into the tax net and by which the revenue profile of the state has continued to grow steadily.
She encouraged all patriotic citizens to register with ODIRS to have their TIN which she said was free of any cost to enable them have unlimited access to dividends of good governance.
Highlights of the event was the declaration of some persons who volunteered to join the Lions Club and they were duely decorated by the District Governor with her Service Pins.
