Ahead of the 2023 general election, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Hon. Rasheed Elegbeleye, has inaugurated a campaign team in support of the party’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP Candidates in the State.
Atiku Door-to-Door Campaign Team, which was inaugurated on Sunday by Elegbeleye has over 260 members including party leaders across the 13 wards in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking at inauguration, Elegbeleye who is also the Minority Leader of the Sunshine State House of Assembly, said the team would work hand in glove with party members to ensure outright victory for the PDP family.
The lawmaker also noted that only collective efforts could engender victory for the party in the forthcoming election, adding that Atiku will defeat the All Progressives Congress and Labour Party Candidates with wide margin.
He said, “We inaugurated the team in support of our Presidential candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all other candidates in Ondo North Senatorial District”
“We are united in Ikare and we will vote for PDP because the ancient town has done well for me and my family, hence, I won’t mislead my people because Atiku is the candidate to beat”
On his achievements, Elegbeleye said: “Apart from several empowerment programmes, I have given out lucrative jobs to over 27 youths in my constituency and I remain unperturbed with saboteurs who are hawking lies about me”
Earlier, the Akoko North East Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Tayo Oyedeji, assured party members that the crisis within the PDP would soon come to end, saying the door of reconciliation is opened from the end of the G-5 Governors.
On his part, the PDP Candidate for Akoko North-East and North West Federal Constituency, Oluwasegun Kadri, described Elegbeleye as a politician who has endeared himself to the public through his philanthropic gestures.
Kadri who said despite the alleged payment of half salaries to Legislators in the State, noted that Elegbeleye’s inimitable performance remained unsurpassable.
He also urged members of PDP to surmount the lure of lucre during election, while assured them of implicit victory.
