How does it feel having a money you can’t access because of a decision made by a constituted authority to change the colours of our legal tender?
Since changing the currency of Nigeria the economy of the state has been distabilize because almost all citzen are suffering to get cash at hand while the hardship that comes with online transactions can’t be overemphasized, we’ve heard of a case in Kaduna where an innocent Nigeria woman lost her dear life while trying to give birth because she wasn’t attended to after cash transfer her husband made to the hospital hasn’t been successful even after a couples of hours.
Some people such as those who make use of POS used the chance to extort people’s money collecting huge charges from there customers
Although, the POS business man and women aren’t to be blamed or hold responsible for attaching high price to collection and receiption of cash, it’s not a hidden fact that accessing cash at bank these days seems like breaking through a city wall because of the hurdles and obstacle you have to overcome before getting your hands on your hard earned cash you saved at bank, to try and bridge the gap, POS operator spends a lot of hours, running helter skelter from one bank to another before they can get money at hand which isn’t the normalcy before now.
People are quing at banks from almost dawn till dusk some even went as far as during vigil at the ATM point having a thought that manna in form of cash will fall from the sky.
It is beyond Nigerians comprehension now, absolutely little or no Nigerian saw this coming so huge and heavy. businesses are wailing and self employed persons are suffering but smiling because it’s a national phenomenon that cut across the whole federation not excluding the elite and the layman but just like we’ve always been experiencing in time past when elites and the highly ranked citizens buy their way out of situations like this. Majority of people are suffering but minority of people are enjoying and smiling at this whole transition from an old legal tender to this new one.
There couldn’t be another right opportunity for Nigerians to call for a new land filled with milk and honey, than this perfect opportunity to vote and elect a competent leader at all levels of government to administer the affair of our states and paddle our canoe to the Canaan land that was promised to our forefathers who fought with might for this democracy we now enjoy. A good democracy should prioritize the electorate welfare but the present situation of cash scarcity presents warfare that’s capable of wrecking the economy if good measures aren’t put in place sooner rather than later.
