As part of efforts to ensure the reelection of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in October 10th, 2020 in Ondo state, an industrialist and Convener of a political group known as Ibi giga Ambassadors,Chief (Dr) Alex Oluremi Ajipe on Friday inaugurated the group’s constituency Coordinators across the state.
Ajipe also presented about 26 vehicles to the new Ibi Giga Ambassadors Constituency Coordinators to ensure massive mobilisation of grassroots support for Akeredolu in both July 20 APC governorship primary and October 10 election.
This is coming hours after Ibi Giga Ambassadors played major roles alongside other political groups and 19 of the 26 Ondo state House of Assembly members, to raise #35million, out of which #22.5million was used to obtain Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the governor yesterday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.
The funfair inauguration and presentation ceremony of the vehicles to the coordinators was held at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade in Akure, where Akeredolu expressed gratitude to Ajipe for funding Ibi Giga Ambassadors for mobilisation on his second term project.
First of its kind in the history of the sunshine states, this gestures was achieved following the convictions of the Convener Chief Ajipe Alex in ensuring a smooth running of the upcoming Gubernatorial Elections.
Ibi Giga Ambassadors is a leading campaign group with presence across the 203 wards of the state was also among those who made financial support for the purchase nomination form for his excellency Reelection.
In a remark, the Convener of Ibi-Giga Ambassadors, Chief Alex Ajipe said the vehicles were purchased and distributed to strategic places in the nooks and crannies of the state, ensure the governor’s giant strides were properly propagated to the people.
Ajipe charged the constituency coordinators of the political group to see the project as a collective in which larger percentage of ondo state people must be reached to support Akeredolu’s reelection.
Ajipe insisted that majority of the governor’s projects especially Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub in Ore were set up to secure future for generations yet unborn in the state.
The industrialist said, “second term agenda (of Aketi) is an agenda of everybody, is everybody’s project, all of us must go out there as Ibi Giga Ambassadors to mobilise people wards by wards and constituency by constituency to make this reelection project a reality.”
“Mr Governor, these vehicles are for our constituency ambassadors we are inaugurating today for Aketi 4+4.”
Ajipe, appealed to the APC members and leaders as well as the good people of ondo state to support the reelection of Governor Akeredolu to enable him consolidate on the gains of his first in the interest of the state’s future.
In a remark, the Director General of Ibi-Giga Ambassadors, Professor Lanre Olu-Adeyemi said the group had been marketing the second term aspiration of the governor and members would redouble their efforts with the presentation of the vehicles.
Also speaking at the forum first Son of the first Civilian Governor of Ondo State, Mr Tokunbo Ajasin endorsed the second term project of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu despite the fact that his sister,Mrs Jumoke Ajasin-Anifowoshe, is also showing interest in the governorship seat under the same All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Ajasin’s son who is currently representing Ondo State in the board of the Revenue, Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), commended massive investment of Chief Ajipe in mobilising for the governor’s reelection.
Ajasin declared that Akeredolu deserves reelection based on his administration’s performance in the last three and half years.
Presenting the vehicles, Governor Akeredolu accompanied by some members of the state cabinet and his SA on political matters, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan, said he had noted with delight huge commitments of Ibi-Giga Ambassadors over his second term ambition.
Akeredolu vowed that by God’s power, he would defeat all his opponents in the race for the APC ticket and the ultimate October 10 election.
The governor urged his supporters especially members of Ibi-Giga Ambassadors to always promoting and expressing confidence that his camp was ready for any mode of APC primaries for ondo state on July 20.
Akeredolu who was full of joy and praise while donating the car gifts to the constituency coordinators, also charged them to use the vehicle judiciously for the success of his electioneering process.
